In the environment, everything is reusable and replenishable but at a certain rate. The certain rate is the much environment can balance itself. Overly consume or damage would break the balance beyond the point of restorable.

For the example of imbalance. Fish is replenishable goods of seas. However, near shore fishery using fishing net cause damage to corals where fish would breed and thus imbalance in the environment. This imbalance would results to extinction and no more fish for fishing.
