The elephant seal has blubber too keep it warm, therefore it needs no fur so it has skin which is more waterproof than fur.
Originally land animals, elephant seals have adapted to life in the sea by developing a thick layer of insulating fat, called blubber, that keeps them warm. The blubber also serves as a reserve store of food. Elephant seals move gracefully in the water.
They propel themselves with their fins and use their forelimbs to change direction. On land, they use their forelimbs to move across the beach.

Elephants have many special adaptations that help them to survive in the wild. The tusks are used for eating and for weapons. The structure of the teeth is important for being able to eat the large quantities of vegetation that elephants ingest each day. The trunk is a recognizable feature used for eating, bathing, and communicating with other elephants. The ears of African elephants are specialized for both hearing and cooling the body and much more.
well, all seals have a layer of blubber which is a layer of fat between the muscle and the skin. it helps insulate them from the cold. the fur is also another factor that helps. actually hyperventilate before they dive under water to store oxygen in their blood so that they can stay underwater for longer. I am actually doing some research right now for a project and this is what i got so far. hope it helped :)
