Human use and overuse of the environment has contributed to the loss of habitats fro many species. Urbanization takes natural land and converts into animal-unlivable space. Because there is nothing to eat and nowhere to live, these animals have to compete with their own species along with others who have their same needs. Darwin's natural selection takes over from there and they die off if they cannot get the resources they need.
