Monotheist religions, whether in their pure universal state or in their structured ethnic form believe that nature did not happen by chance, but was organised by a superior will or purpose. this means that there is coherence in nature and that nature has been created in the image of it's creator.

This does not mean that God looks like nature, but that in nature we can deduct attributes and qualities of its creator, just as in a painting we can discover the attributes of the artist. Foremost amongst the attributes of the creator is love, the power that binds together the universe and all its constituents and which binds the constituents of nature in an inter-dependant manner.

Likewise, loving God implies loving His creation and His creatures, and amongst them, the most accomplished ones: our fellow humans.

This is how the Baha'i teachings describe this power of love in nature:

Love is the Manifestation of the All -Merciful, the fountain of spiritual outpourings.

Love is heaven¹s kindly light, the Holy Spirit's eternal breath that vivifies the human soul.

Love is the cause of God's Revelation unto man, the vital bond inherent in the realities of things.

Love is the one means that insures true felicity both in this world and the next.

Love is the light that guideth in darkness, the living link that uniteth God with man, that assureth the progress of every illumined soul....

Love revealeth with unfailing and limitless power the mysteries latent in the universe.

Love is the Spirit of life unto the adorned body of mankind, the establisher of true civilization in this mortal world, and the shedder of imperishable glory upon every high-aiming race....

Love is the most great law that ruleth this mighty and heavenly cycle, the unique power that bindeth together the divers elements of the material world, the supreme force that directs the movements of the spheres in the celestial realms.

Most ethnic religions lack a clear perception of how the universe came to be, as they focus more on our current state of being and improving it as is. Universalizing religions tend to be theistic, so, naturally, they believe that their God has created everything. Although this answer is a bit broad for the given subject, i hope it was some help.
