Faith is the strongly held belief in something that can not be proven. Science comes from the Greek word for knowledge, because it means knowing things that have been proven. Since science requires observable evidence, there is probably nothing that religious faith contributes to science. Science can contribute to faith, to the extent that faith can be reinterpreted to make it appear consistent with scientific knowledge. For example, Muslims seek to achieve credibility for Islam by saying that scientific facts can be read in the Koran, although when actually read without preconceptions that is rarely the case.
