LED means light emitting diode. Diode is an electronic component which has two

nodes. when power supply is given between two nodes the current flows and emits light from it which is in visible spectrum. Hence light appears from LED lamp. As the energy required for emitting light is very less hence LED lights give very high lumens per watt
