Best Answer

They function through two types of motions, known as transcription and translation. Besides the genes, a chromosomal DNA molecule has specific stretches of DNA that are referred to as promoters and enhancers.

Genes make up the DNA and are the genetic code for the body. Each code codes for a specific protein/ enzyme which is needed by the body.

When the specific protein that is coded for a gene is needed the DNA unravels exposing the gene. The gene is then transcribed by mRNA. (Catalysed by transcriptase) which means that a copy of the gene is made. This copy of the gene is taken out of the nucleus of the cell and to the ribosomes where it is converted into the coded for protein in a process called translation

In essence, genes code for amino acids which code for proteins. These proteins then act as enzymes and control metabolic pathways that determine a particular characteristic. The metabolic pathway works by using the products from each enzyme as the substrate for the next pathway.

What is a collaborative gene?

A collaborative gene is a group of genes that all work together. Typically, these genes are all different types of genes.

What gregor Mendel did for us?

mendel is known as the father of genetics. he figured out how genes work using pea plants. he figured out how dominent, recessive genes work. he also figured out how genotypes and phenotypes work.

What is call when related genes are physically close to each other in the genome and work together for a specific function?

I KNOW THE ANSWER!!! I THINK THAT WHATS WE CALL LINKED GENES

Cells are related to nutrients you eat because?

nutrients can affect how the genes in cells work

Who was the first person to understand how genes work?

Probably Gregor Mendel, though he called them ' factors. '

How cell gets specialize to perform a work?

A cell is specialized depending on what genes in it are active and which ones aren't. The genes that are active define what the cell's job is.

Why is gene regulation an important issue in gene therapy?

several genes may play a part in turning other genes on and off. For example, certain genes work together to stimulate cell division and growth, but if these are not regulated, the inserted genes could cause tumor formation and cancer

What determines the nature of cell's work?

The Genes determine the nature of the cell's work....Each gene is a blueprint that directs the production.
