Your service light comes on BECAUSE there's something that needs attention on your vehicle.
You can do a few of things, though to turn it off. One, FIX THE PROBLEM. Two, find someone with a code reader and figure out what the problem is, and then FIX THE PROBLEM, or three, you can toy around with it until accidentally, YOU FIX THE PROBLEM.
Of course, you can turn the lamp off by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. But if there's still a problem, the light will come on again, until you FIX THE PROBLEM.
Helpful suggestion? It may be something as simple as needing to replace or reseat the gas cap. HAD THAT PROBLEM on my Ford and it turned out the gas cap was worn out and needed to be replaced. NO PROBLEM. But then again, I found someone with a code reader and figured it out (one of my local parts stores, and it was free). Do you meant the orange spanner light? You may need a service. Carry out the service then follow the procedure below to reset the service light.
Turn off Ignition
Press and hold down throttle and brake pedal
Turn on ignition
continue to hold for 30 seconds then release
turn ignition to position 2..press brake and throttle together for 15 seconds..light will flash..release and switch off...done!
transit van dashboard lights flashing on and off and van not starting
-turn contact off. -press brake and accelerator at the same time -hold for 30 secs, when the service lamp starts blinking, release pedals and the light goes off ...until your next oil change is due.
its quite simple to reset this light (turn on ignition, press foot brake and accelerator at the same time until the light starts flashing then turn off ignition and it should be reset.

Take it to be serviced by the dealer and they will turn it off once they have serviced it.
Get the engine serviced.
get the engine serviced.
I have a 2010 Ford Transit Connect. I have found no provision for turning off the traction control. This is an urgent item for The Ford Motor Company to address for TC's sold in snow areas. I just found out today just how helpless you are in the snow with Ford's Transit Connect.
if you are reffering to service enging light disconnect negative battery cable for 30 seconds and re connect it
If you mean the orange light showing oil can and spanner hold both foot brake and throttle, turn on ignition and hold for 30 seconds. The light will flash, turn off ignition job done.
My experience has been that if you disconnect the battery cables and leave them off for a minute, then reconnect them, the service engine light should have reset.
