basically, if you lift the hood and look directly at the engine (the big silver thing), on the top left side of it as you are looking at it from the front is where you place the oil in (oil cap). Just above that are the four spark plugs. They are underneath the plug and coils. you would have to unscrew the two bolts holding the coils down to get to two of the spark plugs, and the other two spark plugs, you just pull the wires off. (Just pull)

For the 3.1 or 3.4 V-6 it isn't easy. The plugs facing the front of the car are accessible. the ones on the fire wall side of the motor are impossible to get to without tilting or lifting the motor. Take you car to a professional or forget about them and just change the plugs you can get to.

I did this on my 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder. This can all be done with a 10 mm socket and driver, a spark plug gap adjuster, anti seize grease, and a spark plug socket

1. Remove the negative battery cable

2. Remove the plastic cover (2 10 mm bolts and 2 plastic fasteners)

3. Remove bolts holding spark plug cover

4. Pull off electric quick disconnects by squeezing clip gently

5. Remove plactic brace holding the wires down (1 10mm nut and 1 10 mm bolt)

6. Remove coil over packs over the spark plugs

7. Remove spark plug using 5/8 spark plug socket

8. Adjust new spark plug gap to .044

9. Apply anti seize grease to spark plug treads and screw in plugs

10. reassemble

Have and use all the proper tools unscrew the 2 silver ignitioncoil coilpack for the 3 cylinders on both banks of the V6 and unclip the wire's and safely put the coilpacks aside then take the socket wrench with a extension and use the sparkplug bit with the rubbergrip inside then turn them counter clockwise the last 3 cylinders by the windshield will be a pain to reach but it can be done also gap the spark plugs if their not and torque them to the original specifications of the car

Hello

well first you gotta open your hood.

You will see a black cover that says elantra on it, that needs to be removed just using a screw driver. it also helps to remove the large plastic cover that covers everyting.

once you have that off you will need an extenstion to go down and take the spark plugs out. do one at a time so you dont cross the leads of the wires.

How do you change the spark plugs on a 2002 Volvo S40?

to change the plugs you must take off the spark plug boots..you then take the spark plugs out with a 5/8 sparkplug socket..put the new plugs in the holes and finger tighten them a little(with the socket and extension so that it doesnt cross thread)it might also be wise to replace the wires if they look bad or cracked..

How do you change spark plugs on a 1988 Honda CRX?

Pull the wires out of the top of the motor, they have a long plastic boot on the end of the wire. Using a spark plug socket and a long extension you will be able to remove the spark plugs. Check the gap on your new plugs and I like to use a section of hose that fits on the top of the spark plug to to thread the plug back in. That way you reduce the chance of cross threading. Once you get them started you can tighten them down. I usually replace the wires when I replace the plugs. I would suggest replacing the plugs/wires one at a time to reduce the risk of mixing the wires up.

1996 Buick regal custom 3.1L spark plug change three back plugs?

remove the alternator. piece of cake then. remove the alternator first. You can remove the coil pack and bracket which is fastened by 2bolts/2nuts. This is the thing that the spark plugs wires plug into when the other side goes on the actual spark plugs. Once this is removed it is a breeze, a mechanic mirror helps and a knuckle or U-joint is almost mandatory. It seems like alot of wiring but everything only plugs where it belongs as far as the electrical connectors you remove goes, getting the nuts that are below was done as i stood on the passenger side, a friend will make it much more easy. Let me know if you need more details. xxsodasipperxx@yahoo.com
