How do i change the rear brake pads on a vauxhall astra?

, if you are handy with tools it should take you 20 min max each side.

Tools you need is Hammer, flat screw driver, pointy object to knock the pins out.

You do not need to loose any bolt or bleed it.

Do take the wheel off. Looking at the brake you should be able to see two pins coming from the back and going through a mettle plate thing which is acting as a spring and through the brake pads.

Get your self a little pointy screw driver or a nail will do and a hammer. With the nail on the pin hit the nail so that pins move out towards back. Take the both pins and that metal pieces out. Remember how did the metal plate sat it might me be good idea to take a photo before you take the pins out.

Now put a flat screw driver in between the rotter and brake pad and push the piston back as much as possible, remember you are going to put thicker pads in......so make some space. Keep some fabric around the brake oil tank or reservoir it might overflow as you push the piston back.

Just pull the both pads out from the top, they should come out very easy. That is it......slide the new pads back. place that metal plate on the top of the pads and push the pins back.....use hammer to push them all the way. I you.
