It is important to check and maintain fluid levels in a car. To check the transmission fluid, a person looks for the red cap under the hood, this is the transmission dipstick.
Most likely it is the headgasket being blown. Check the coolant level. If there is oil in the coolant and water in the oil there is your clue.
there is no tranny dipstick on Audi's. the transmission fluid level is checked and serviced like that of a manual transmission. there is a drain and fill plug on the transmission oil pan itself. an excellent source of Audi service information can be found at Blauparts website.
You have to take it to the dealership to be check. It has to be at a set temp. to check, with a special tool.
My recommendation is every 36,000 miles. Check your owner's manual for the manufactures recommendation.
