To find the spark plug wire locations from the distributor to the spark plug, a person will need to know the firing order of the engine. Engine sizes and years for motor vehicles have different firing orders. "Chilton's Repair Manuals" is a good source for finding the specific firing order for most engines.
Find where all your sparkplug wires lead to, one side of the wire will end up connecting to the sparkplug in the engine block, the other side will lead to a distributor or ignition coil pack, eather will indicate the cylinder the wire is hooked up to.
If You want too find the Number one position then you have to do the following. Remove the #1 Sparkplug wire Remove the #1 Sparkplug Stick your finger in the whole (Sounds wierd I know but it works) Have somebody bump the starter (make sure they dont hold it, only bump it) When the compression pushes your finger out then take the top of the distributor off, the metal side will be pointing to where the #1 position is. If You want too find the Number one position then you have to do the following. Be careful too do it only when it pushes your finger out!!! When it is on six it will push a little but you can keep your finger in.
You can find a distributor wire diagram for a 1997 Integra in the auto's owner's manual. You can also find it in some auto part stores.
Different locations for different vehicles. Need more info like make, model and year.
For all internal combustion engines that have a distributor, the crankshaft turns twice for every rotation of the camshaft. You need to point the mark to #1TDC when the piston is on top of the compression cycle. Then the rotor of the distributor points to the #1 sparkplug wire.
bring number 1 piston up to top dead center point rotorbutton to number 1 sparkplug wire on the distributor cap can you get more preformance by the timing
Go buy a new set. Pull one wire from the distributor cap, then from the sparkplug. Find one of the new ones the same length, put a little silicone lubricant on the rubber boot on each end and then put it in the distributor cap and then the spark plug. Do them one at a time and then the coil wire. It's really a very simple, easy job. Even my wife has done this a couple of times in her life.
There are numerous retail locations and internet pages where one can find supplies for wire art. Arts and crafts stores such as A.C. Moore or Michaels are examples of such locations.
It should be marked on your distributor cap. Just find the wire next to the one and follow it to the cylinder.
Get your new sparkplug wire kit from the parts store then disconnect the battery ground cable. Pull the coil wire off of the center connection. If you have a coil pack disconnect one wire from the coil and disconnect the other end from the spark plug. Find the new wire that matches the one you pulled and put it in place. Do one wire at a time so you don't mix up the timing. Did you check your rotor and cap? Did you check your spark plugs? Did you test your coil?
