Here's a thought- it might just be sometimes a little hard to tap into your own mind, so most people don't always get what exactly they want with others.You like the guy's personality,without being attracted.There is an obvious strength in the liking or you would not have asked this.Now, consider this.... there are many kinds of relationships, that are not physical... friendship is one... but that's obviously not the issue, since you cant place him in that box, and trust me, there is absolutely no need to try.Intimate relationships between men and women don't depend thoroughly on sex....maybe your value system thinks so.. but your psyche feels that this man is exceptional in places you don't generally see an exception in. Its a very good thing. Take this as an opportunity, Mature relationships are not always based on sex and that's how there is peace and beauty in mankind. Check to see if there is compatibility.. which I assume there should be...... Yes, this is love. And it also tells you that you've grown up. Try to bring him to your side caue in the long run, you'll need a man with a personality... more than attractiveness. This guy might even be the one for you. Don't confuse love with physical attraction cause..... things might change as the ball rolls on! Good Luck. Check to see if the guy loves you....don't screw up... don't dig to find attraction..... or liking.... just trust your instincts... and go with the flow.

If hes kind of like a player, and jokes around a lot with his friends, and other people, then he could just be checking you out, because your hot and not because of what you really have (like a personality). But if this guy is a good guy, and cares about how you really feel, then he could be (like I said) trying to determin wether or not hes atracted to you in that way. He looks at you a lot because you are basically the only thing on his mind all day long. This is a GOOD thing!
