Start guessing.
Most cheap locks aren't that sensitive, so you don't have to try every number. The sort used in school lockers will probably open if you're within 3 of the correct value, so you can try every fifth number. Of course, if it's a school locker, you could just go to the office and get the combination again; they record this sort of thing.

My brinks locked in the open position. What do I need to do to get it fixed
you cant you need to know the combo and have the lock open to access the combination change device if there was a way to reset a combo on a locked lock what kind of security would that be?

show a travelpro three number lock.I've lost the combo and can't get it open.
Possibly with a chisel and sledgehammer, but they are designed to not open without the correct code.
Hold down the silver button on the side. Scroll through the far right wheel until you hear a click. Do the same for the middle and left wheels. Hope it helped! (Worked for me) Update: Use your thumb to hold down the silver button on the side. With your thumb, you can feel the button "fall" or "bump" into place as you turn the wheel to the correct digit. This usually works really well on the 3rd digit. This at least narrows it down to 100 possible combinations (rather than the original 1,000). Or, knowing the last digit may help jog your memory to remember the combination you set in the first place.
a lock that is sturdy and not easy to open get a dudley lock they are very hard and sturdy and dont break very easily.
The lock has to be open, turn the lock to the back side, flip the lever on the bottom up and to the left, set the new combo, push the lever on the back to the right and your done.
To reset a Lewis N. Clark 3-dial TSA002 combo lock, do the following: 1) Position the lock so if you're looking straight at it, the lock is set on it's large flat side, with the combo numbers on the right side and the n-shaped clasp open on the left. 2) Pull the clasp straight up and rotate it counter clockwise 180 degrees and press it down. 3) While holding the clasp down at the 180 degree location, dial in your new combo. 4) After the new combo is set, release the downward pressure on the clasp, continue rotating it counter clockwise to the lock position and you're done.
They come preset to 0000. You open the box, then take the rubber plug out and slide the reset clip over and up. Then put the combo that you want to use on the combo pad then slide the pin back to its original position and replace the rubber plug. Now it is set to your combo.
If this is like mine, you must first know the combination to open the lock. If it is locked and you don't remember the combination, or don't know it, you will probably have to cut it off with bolt cutters. When lock is open you may then set to any combination you like. The lock will memorize whatever the combination was when it is closed. Once closed change the numbers and the lock will not open until the combination showing when the lock was closed is dialed in.
