it is easier to repair the OEM horn assembly than to "rig" up a button
i beleve the horn botton is part of the air bag assembly so you need to replace the whole air bag
Grab Hold of the Horn button in the center of the wheel and push in and turn counter clockwise until it comes loose. This is generally about a quarter of a turn. If the horn contacts in the center of the steering wheel are bad they will need to be replaced. There are brushes on springs that make contact under the horn button. If the springs or contacts are bad that will explain the horn not working.
Behind the driver side headlight..... Next to the fan assembly. Black... 3 prong box.
You can replace the horn button on your 1992 Pontiac Bonneville by removing the center steering will cover. Remove the horn button retaining screws. Remove the horn button wiring harness. Reverse the process to install your new horn button.

To wire up a car horn with a button you first need to run one of the wires from the horn to the battery. Take 1of the wires from the horn and run it to where you want the button to go. Connect the wire to the button and that's it.
remove front headlight assembly to get at horn,it is down below light assembly..
You should be able to pull off the horn button in the middle. There might be a wire going from the button to a hole in the steering wheel, just push in and rotate to remove it. There should be a clip that you pry off. You can the use a steering wheel remover to pull off the wheel. The 1994 Chevy Astro EXT van has 4 bolts behind the steering wheel/airbag/horn assembly to remove the horn/airbag assembly.
Push the car horn button....
If it is the same as my 68, the horn button is held in place by a rubber o-ring under the button. carrefully work a thin, flat screw driver under the edge of the horn button and TWIST. Be careful not to chip the button. This should pop out the horn button.
