How do i replace the rubber elbow hose just above the pcv valve on my 2003 ford escort zx2. the dealer told me i'd have to buy the whole assembly. can i just repair or replace the elbow segment?

It should just be a 3/16 elbow hose. So yeah, I would say so.

Sorry, the only way is to replace the assembly. Ususally the track tape strips out. If you here the motor running, but the belt doesn't move, and there is a grinding noise, the track assembly needs to be replaced. It's stripped out.
