I'm guessing that this is the same process as the nextar P3 gps unit that also plays MP3's. If so, this is how I did it.
You need to download and install microsofts activesync software.Google search for it, it is available for free from microsoft. After you install the software, you plug in the gps and wait for it to sync. There will be a connection icon in the system tray by the clock that tells you that there is a connection. If there is no connection, you might need to disable your firewall or add the following ports to the exception list:
•
990 (RAPI)
•
999 (Status)
•
5721 (DTPT)
•
5678 (Legacy Replication)
•
5679 (Handshake & Legacy Replication)
•
26675 (Airsync)
Click the connection icon to bring up the activesync window, then click the explore icon. In this window, you will see all of the files on your GPS unit. You should take the time to back up the SDmmc folder because that is where the gps map is stored. (WARNING - this is VERY slow). After that, if there is enough space available on your card, you simply copy the music files that you want and paste them in the sdmmc folder. If you purchase a new SD card, you can copy the files that you backed up to the new card in this same way and paste them into the new card. Then you can use the same card to navigate as well as to listen to music. I also have found that you can remove the sdcard from your device and put it in your digital camera to move the files around. It is much faster than using the nextar.
Good luck

I have the Nextar Navigator V7. I just down loaded microsofts activesync software 4.5 and I was able to transfer music from my computer to my Nextar GPS. Just google the software and download; it's free. Then copy your MP3 files from your PC to your GPS by putting them in ResidentFlash/MobileNavigator folder found after you synchronize the GPS and PC. Good luck....

I download music by using AudiCable Audio Recorder. Google this app and download it. It can convert songs from all kinds of streaming music sources like MP3, AAC, FLAC, WAV, AIFF plain formats. Then I can really own these downloaded songs without restrictions.

A Nextar MP3 player is a small device that allows you to store music on it so that you can listen to the music, or "mp3's" at any time. It's very small and can fit in your pocket, so it's very convenient and easy to carry. Here is an example of a Nextar MP3 player. http://www.amazon.com/Nextar-MP3-Player-1GB-MA933A-1BL/dp/B000I3DV4G
