∙ 13y agoThe orca is a obligate aerobe the way all animals are. Therefore whales convert oxygen and a carbon source to ATP (Adenosine Triphospate), Heat, and Water. ATP is energy by a generalized process called cellular respiration. In aerobic respiration ATP is generated by the Electron Transport Chain and Oxidative Phosphorylation. The specifics of the ETC Chain and Oxidative Phosphorylation is different for every organism.
