It actually dosent, but it eats aphids and other critters that eat your garden.Its color warns other animals not to eat it, but it actually is harmless.

I doubt they do. Like ladybugs, they have a hard shell that protects them from predetors.

it protects itself by being on a high tree or being in a herd with its friends and relatives.
