non living things like rocks sit there wile living things move
Living things use the non living thing as shelter like birds with the nests and other animals making shelters underground or to camuflate like camaleons or stick insects. Also to make food such as plants to make sugar with the sunlight.
nonliving things decompose and living things eventually die and decompose,
Living things and non-living things interact in the environment in various ways and this is what forms the ecosystem. For instance plants will interact with the soil to grow and become producers which are part of the food chain.
Living things are called biotic factors. Non living things are called abiotic factors. Living things include all the plants and animals and single celled organisms. Non living factors include things like the weather, sunlight, soil type, humidity, wind, water etc etc.
How do they interact? In millions of ways. The plants use the sunlight to grow and make their own food (photosynthesis). Plants grow in the soil. Animals make their homes in the water and the land (burrows etc)
Living things (biotic) use each other and non living (abiotic) to survive.
