Parasites live in a host, usually an animal. In the animal's intestines, the egg of the parasite hatches. It makes a worm that lives off the host. When an animal excretes waste, some unhatched eggs are excreted too. If another animal or human eats something contaminated by that waste, they can ingest the eggs. The cycle continues in a new host.
Humans also eat some animals. If the animal's meat is not cooked properly, the meat can contain parasite eggs. The eggs hatch in the human's intestines and grows into a worm. The human can excrete eggs in their waste... the cycle continues.

∙ 11y agoWell, there are good and bad parasites. Bad ones are bad to us, and good parasites (like the ones in probiotics) fight bad and help us.
