Some couples have had another child because an existing one is ill or has some defect which may be helped by a child with similar DNA. A blood disorder or a kidney for instance.
The press, and certain sensationalist reporters and others, in their ignorance, have and are using the phrase as if it is possible to decide and choose the personality, characteristics and capabilities of a child.
It is not so.
