How do people develop an allergy?

Well, while you may 'develop' an allgery over time, generally you are born with the Allergies you have. Some of these are hereditary (that is you inherit them from your parents), but it's generally from some genetic mutation of some sort. On the other hand, you can develop immunity to allgeries you once had. Recently, they've been doing studies with children with severe peanut allergies and a small daily dose, gradually increased can lead to a mild level of tolerance. Of course these children can't go eat an entire tub of peanut butter, but a sandwich (especially one accidentally eaten) won't kill them anymore.
