Women in Saudi Arabia dress differently than Middle East countries. They dress same as gulf countries but it's not exactly the same.

Women's clothes are decorated with tribal motifs, coins, sequins, metallic thread, and appliques. However, Saudi women must wear a long cloak (abaya) and veil (niqāb) when they leave the house to protect their modesty. So the abaya not their dress, they wear it over their normal clothes "as any woman in the world wears" except when they go out from the house .

For women in Makkah and Madina, it is tradition to dress in full abaya and niqab (cloack and veil). However, in cities such as Riyadh, there are some Muslim women who dress similarly to those in the UK. Almost all women in Saudi Arabia, whether Saudi or foreign, Muslim or non-Muslim, wear an abaya (black coat or cloak) and scarf when out in the street, or in public places such as hospitals, restaurants, and shopping malls. Foreigners visiting the country sometimes wear colors other than black.

i don't think that you're asking about the traditional dresses.. but what people "actually" wear nowadays.... well, in public places.. men wear Thobs and women wear Abayas..

for women in parties, meetings, at home, with friends, etc they wear just anything.. jeans, dresses, etc.. they only wear Abayas when males are around

A abaya, but I don't think you have to cover the hair..

My family lived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia when I was growing up and since none of us girls had reached puberty so we dressed normally except during the holidays. My mom though always wore a long dress that was not form fitting and during the holidays she would cover her head with a scarf just out of respect for their culture since we were guests in their country.

In Riyadh all local women wear the veil (hijab) and black robe (obayah), however for the Western woman, modest dress is acceptable (cover arms and legs in public) although wearing an obayah over normal clothes during shopping expeditions is advisable to avoid the onslaught of the Muttawa and carrying a scarf just in case is always a good plan.

You should cover yourself so that you are being respectful to their faith. You should not wear shorts or t-shirts as this will offend their religion
