With their teeth and with their speed. Piranhas are only a few inches long, but they have razor sharp teeth. By travelling in schools of hundreds, even thousands of individuals, they represent a daunting challenge to predators, as well as a risk to animals and humans.

Piranha in schools wil attack and eat things the size of cows. They have razor sharp teeth and not a very nice disposition. If you are thinking of getting one as a pet, make sure you are fully in formed about their habits. Like snakes, they prefer their food live. If you have kids in the house, keep a locked cover or screen over the tank.

I think they must be kept alone.
