If I'm correct I would have to say no! not all plants take in water from the ground. There are plaints known as Air plants which absorb th moisture from the air. Does anyone agree?

The carbon dioxide that plants take in come from animals. The oxygen that animals take in come from the plants.
If u change the flow of a river's water it effect the plants and animals in the area becuz when the animal's drink the water and the water has oil or poison in it they could die and when some people take the river's water and water the plants, it could rot.

Plants give out Oxygen. Animals give out Carbon Dioxide. Plants take in Carbon Dioxide, Animals take in Oxygen.
Plants take microelements and water from the soil and sunlight for their growing. Herbivorous animals eat plants for their growing. Raptor animals eat herbivorous animals for their growing. People eat them all.
