A mother rabbit will feed her kits for a few minutes once or twice a day. Otherwise, she doesn't really care for them. Their instincts tell them to stay away from the nest because predators can find it more easily if they see Mom hanging around.
The kits(baby rabbits) have to stay with their mother for atleast 7 weeks so she can feed them. You must separate the father from the mother and the kits. Move the male but not the kits or mother. You can sell your rabbits after seven weeks but not before or they will die. If you don't want your rabbits to have babies again take them to a trained vet and get them nutured.
Every rabbit should have it's own cage. The male should never be in the does cage. You take the doe to the bucks cage to mate, then return her to her own cage. When the kits are born you should check the nest for dead babies then leave the work up to the mom. She must have fresh feed and water daily. The bunnies will start to get fur at 3 days, open their eyes at 10 days and start jumping out of the nest box at 2 to 3 weeks of age. Until then you shouldn't handle them much. They will start to eat pellets and should be eating well by 4 weeks of age. You can start to wean (and sell if that is your purpose) at 6 weeks. All babies should be weaned by 8 weeks and your doe should be given at least 2 weeks to recuperate before breeding again. Baby rabbits require the same care their Mom did: a safe house, fresh water and feed daily, and protection from the elements.
Aside from checking to make sure there are no dead babies you should leave the mother to take care of the newborn babies.
Mother Rabbits care for their babies by burrowing them to keep them warm and giving them milk once a day.
They take care of their babies like horses do!
Yes. All mammals take care of their babies.
The way Americans take care of babies!
yes they can, cause they help take of their babies Every rabbit should have it's own cage (space). In the wild rabbits compete for territory. There has to be enough space for everyone or fighting will start. Does do not take care of each other's babies unless you foster them to a doe and she doesn't realize they are not hers. She will kick improperly fostered babies out of the nest.
