Well, if we are talking about today's modern recording devices, it works with AD/DA converters. That is Analog to Digital on the way in and Digital to analog on the way out for listening.
So, The converters take an analog signal and convert it to digital which turns into into 1's and 0's and stores it on a hard drive as 1's and 0's. It is actually an amazing process. I guess binary can sound incredibly beautiful at times!
Anyway, when we talk about 16bit or 24bit music, it just gives us 8 more bits to store all of our extra bytes and the more we have, the better the resolution and sound quality. The Frequency response, such as 44.1KHz or 48KHz also widens the spectrum of frequencies that we record with and the higher the number, the more resolution we have in terms of frequency response.
I hope this helps!
The sound recording is crystal clear.
I believe recording software means an product which allows you to record your voice or any sound on it. That is the best thought I can come up with for you.
Record or Recording
Platinum Sound Recording Studios was created in 2000.

Most people DON'T want to hear this, but the way you sound on a recording, is the way youtruly sound =[ Now, different recording devises might sound a little different than others. For example, I notices a cell phone is way off, and a microphone is more like my voice. On a cell phone, you voice might be distorted during the process of recording. But also it is mainly the way you sound =D. Thing is, you hear yourself internally and externally, meaning you hear the vibrations from inside your body (like bones), resulting in you hearing your voice differently than others.
Phillips' Sound Recording Services was born in 1896-03.

The recording of sight rather than sound.
Not really. When you get into how sound processing works and things like that you will get into some heavy mathmatics, but in general no.
A P in a circle indicates that it is a sound recording that is under copyright protection. The P stands for phonograph, but it has been interpreted to mean any means of recording sound. That also means it cannot be used without permission. The media is the property of the holder and cannot be changed to another media.
Your recorded voice will sound strange to your ears. But will not sound strange to someone else comparing your natural voice with a recording.
