If you look at the underside of a snake near its tail, it has a small vertical slit. This is its vent. The cloaca (vent) is a genital and anal opening. Males have hemipenes, which means they have two penises. Likewise females have two receptive areas for the hemipenes. The male inserts the hemipenes into the female's cloaca and ejaculates. Females can store sperm for over a year.
