By studying the bones in the limbs, it is possible to determine how an animal moved and what speed it most likely traveled at. Bipedal dinosaurs with long legs ran faster than other dinosaurs. Stegosaurus moved very slowly because otherwise its hind legs would overtake its forelegs, causing it to fall which is disastrous for such a large animal. Ankylosaurs were heavy and had short legs, which made them slow.
