This depends on the actual phone case. Silicone is in general more shock absorbant and would be my preferred choice. 1.silicone is softer than plastic one. It can be work like a cushion when it hits something. 2. I think plastic one is better on rejection of heat. 3.most DIY phone case based on a simple plastic phone case. If let me choose, I will choose a plastic one. actually, I am using a plastic one. :)
