Hyenas are scavengers, they do not hunt and capture their own prey but wait round for some predator to kill something and they then come and eat the leftovers.

Wrong, Hyenas kill 70-95% of their prey and are more successful hunters than Lions. Hyenas may kill small prey like rodents by breaking the prey's spine. But when hunting large prey, they rip off cunks of meat the prey to bring out it's weakness: the intestines.

hyenas communicate with each other by making howling noises. these noises sound just like an actual laugh which can be heard more than two miles away by other hyenas.
