Answer I think it's mainly because teens are in that stage of their lives where they believe that having a girlfriend (or a boyfriend) is the most important thing in the world. A lot of teenagers are also going through puberty so have crushes on other teens of the opposite sex. Sooner or later, however, they're going to realize that it's not important to have a girlfriend (or boyfriend) and that there is still time before they have to worry about that. WERE JUST THAT COOL!!!
