Just like in all societies, opinions on such issues will vary from person to person. Some Japanese do not mind at all, some Japanese do not approve, and some Japanese actively promote interracial marriages.

What is definition of interracial marriage?

When two people of different races marry this can be known as 'interracial marriage'. Interracial marriages have always occurred but have sometimes been seen in a negative light due to cultural influences.

Is interracial marriages an example of a modern social problem?

I am not sure if I have understood your question correctly, but the way I read it, it seems that you find interracial marriages to be a problem. Is that correctly understood? If so, please elaborate... I do not see why an interracial marriage should be a problem. Race does not define who we are as people and how we interact with each other therefore marriages between people of different races are no different from marriages between people of the same race. The only factors that may change this statement, are difference in culture and mainly: how others judge a mixed couple. For the culture difference, it may as well occur in a marriage of same races. (A hill billy and a city girl may not see eye to eye although they are of the same race.) How a couple is judged by society, and even friends and family can make a big difference in any married couples life. This applies to an interracial couple as well as fat/thin, tall/short, hot/geek, any constellation of people who don't look the same! Interracial marriages are in my opinion an example of a modern social victory! Not too long ago, it was still illegal for people of different races to marry but need I say that laws never prevented people from falling in love?

What does it mean to be part of an interacial couple?

When someone refers to an interracial couple means that people of the couple belong to different races. For example, an interracial couple would be a couple formed by a Chinese and an African.

Why are interracial marriages bad?

Neither, because not everybody in the world thinks the same way when it comes to interracial relationships. Some societies, cultures, families and individuals agree and disagree with it; so basically it depends on your culture, upbringing and beliefs on the subject it what decision you feel is correct. For example some cultures don't allow IR couples, does that make them bad people? No. Some cultures allow IR couples, does that make them bad? No. So it is good or bad depending on the person and the exact relationship.

You are white but inherited sickle cell trait because of inter racial marriages in the family If you get a transfusion from someone with the trait can you have children with sickle disease?

Well, you can´t be white if you have interracial marriages in your ancestors, so the questions is quite illogical. But anyways a blood transfusion doesn´t have anything to do with what your children will inherit from your genes... for example, if you are a AB+ and receives a O- blood transfusion, it´ll have nothing to do with your future children, it´s impossible to a AB+ to conceive a O- child, and vice-versa.
