Depending whether the DNA is compatible with the flower it has landed on. If it's compatible then it will makes its way through the style into the ovary, then ovule. If not, then it dies.

Pollen tube grows down through the style by the enzymes that it secretes to digest the pathway. :) x -s

What is the functionof the tubes that grow from pollen grains?

They provide a pathway for the male gamete to travel down through the style. This is necessary for the gamete to reach the female cell (ovule) in the ovary for fertilization to take place.

What stimulates the pollen to grow?

Lipid that is found on the surface of the stigma stimulates the growth of the pollen tube, which enters through the style to the ovary. Hope that helps

What is the function of the pollen tube?

The pollen tube of most seed plants acts as a conduit to transport sperm cells from the pollen grain, either from the stigma (in flowering plants or angiosperms) to the ovules at the base of the pistil, or directly through ovule tissue in some gymnosperms (conifers and gnetophytes).

Grows from the pollen grain to the ovule?

Pollen tubes grow from the pollen grains to the ovules. Lipids on the surface of the stigma stimulate growth of the pollen tubes. Self sterile plants prevent themselves from growing seeds by not creating these lipids.

What are the steps of pollination to the point that the seed is formed?

-pollen sticks to the stigma at the end of the pistil -pollen tubes grow down the pistil to the egg cells -sperm cells from the pollen moves down the tubes -fertilization combines DNA

Where the pollen tube grow to or through?

The pollen tube grows out of or through the pollen grain.

What happens from the time pollen lands on the female part of the flower until the seed forms?

-pollen sticks to the stigma at the end of the pistil -pollen tubes grow down the pistil to the egg cells -sperm cells from the pollen moves down the tubes -fertilization combines DNA

What is the job of the pistil in flowers?

The pistil is situated at a flower's center. It is a flower's female reproductive part that consists of the ovary at its base, style, and stigma. The role of the stigma, which is located at the top of the pistil, is to collect pollen. A pollen tube, which grows down through the style, connects the stigma to the ovary. The ovary contains ovules that are fertilized by the pollen.

After pollination the pollen grains begin to?

Pollen grains and on stigma of a compatible plant; the pollen grains germinate and grow down the style and into the ovary. Once in the ovary a sperm nucleus from the pollen grain fuses with the ovule (and forms into a zygote or embryo). The pollen tube then degenrates and the ovule forms into a seed.

How do the sperm nuclei in a pollen grain reach the egg nucleus in an ovule?

When they land on the style they begin to bore their way through the stigma all the way to the ovule. Through the tube made by the tube nucleus of the pollen grain: each pollen grain has two nuclei, one called generative nucleus which combines with the nuclei of the ovule, and the other called tube nucleus tube nucleus which forms a tube that penetrates the stigma till it reaches ovule then it degenerates.
