A:Christianity and The Bible were well known on the Arabian peninsula at the time of Muhammad and some believe that much of the Quran is based on that knowledge. However, the Bible is written largely in narrative form, often following the styles of biography or history, whereas the Quran is not in narrative form, but seems to assume a knowledge of biblical traditions. The chapters (surah) of the Quran are not in any sort of chronological order, but rather in order by size (with one exception), with the longest chapters appearing first. In the Bible, this only occurs with the Pauline epistles, which are in descending order by size and again with one exception.

The greatest theological difference between the two texts is no doubt that the Bible describes Jesus as the Son of God, whereas the Quran says that he was one of the great prophets, but not divine.
