England has the Her Majesty's Royal Marines. They have the same function as the US Marines. Most countries with a navy have a marine equivalent.
The Royal Marines are a much smaller body of men who receive a longer and more intensive basic training and more advanced training in special operations skills.
1. British SAS and SBS 2. Navy SEALs 3. Israeli Commando 4. Delta Force 5. US Rangers 6. Russian Spetsnaz 7. Royal Marines 8. US Marines 9. North Korea Special Forces 10. South Korean Marines.
British and a few French Marines stormed the Normandy beaches. There were no US Marines, they were too busy in the Pacific.
Yes, they are owned by Royal Navy and US Marines.
The british forces :P
Tough question, and not designed to improve Anglo-American relations, so I'll have a Walfdorf Salad and say that both are very tough, and I would not want to get on the bad side of either. The US Marines are a much larger unit than the UK Royal Marines, but the US is a much larger country, so it may come out much the same in terms of individual toughness.
The British during the Revolutionary War.
Yes you can, with some tests and appropriate background checks. There may be restrictions on MOS based on citizenship.
There were two British Marine Commando regiments. The US Marines were busy in the Pacific Islands at that time.
Hey there, They are in a way equal. US Marines may have quantity, however British Marines have quality. US Army has more man power, it does have intense training, but I and other people agree that the British Army has more intense training. British Army also has the SAS (Special Air Service) the SAS are currently the toughest unit in the world, also the British Army have the SBS (Special Boat Service) this is also another intense unit. Hope this helps!
