By making a water dam, so that water can't go down.
Dams and flumes prevent the rapid loss of this valuable resource: water is life. Live long, and well with water, from the well if necessary.
Material will travel faster in a river flowing down a steep slope. As the water slows down, the material will also slow down.
I know of no special name for southerly flowing streams. 'Draining in a southerly direction' would perhaps be a description.
it is mud made of ash and water flowing down a volcano side at 100-200 mph and it can be over 400 degrees hot
A runoff is when water flows down from the water into a water body such as an ocean. I do k=not think it has a purpose however it could be to get water of the mountain.
a mountain breeze flows down a mountain and into a valley.

The force of gravity keeps water flowing down hill.Where slopes are steep, the water in streams and rivers flows very fast. :) <3

A mountain stream, or a river flowing lower down in the valley.
In the spring the snow melts sending huge amounts of water flowing down the mountain in streams and rivers.

A mountain stream will often flow quickly as the gradient is steep. Lower down in the valley, the gradient is level and the width between the river banks is greater, so accommodating the greater volume of water. The speed of flow is therefore naturally reduced as the steepness of the gradient lessens.
the river running through rock wear it down into deep valley with the steep sides what is it called
