Apply formatting to the cell that you want. There does not have to be anything in the cell when you apply the formatting. Then when you type a date in, it will show in the format you want.

There are lots of ways of doing it and some websites give you special ways to do it so as to keep dynamic data up to date, such as changing share prices. It really depends on what it is you are trying to import and where it is coming from.

Excel and Word can be integrated. You can have some of the spreadsheet appear as a table in Word. If you set a link between them, then when Excel updates, so will the Word document. Word does have the facilities to do its own calcuations in tables, but they are limited and so Excel is better. So if you want the figures in a Word document and to keep them up to date as they change in the Excel document, then a link is the way to do it. You would copy the data you want in Excel, and then do a Paste Link in the Word document.

That depends who you mean by "they"; also, what they are changing their mind about.
Legally they are not allowed alter the dates but there is very little regulation on this. It is very important that you keep the creditors in line and make sure that they are reporting the information properly.
