Well your gonna have to have a new mount bolt. Drill it out so that the drill bit is the same size as the hole the bolt goes into. Snap the head off when you drill past thehead. The bolt should hand screw out. If not use vicegrips. Then put the new one in the same place. Should replace the mount aswell.
You have to remove the motor mount. Once the motor mount is removed you can remove the old water pump and install the new one. Make sure the area is clean before you install the new one.
yes
in removing motor mount what bolts need to be removed. This is a 1998 biuck regal 3.8L, and I am not sure how to remove the motor mount.
you have to remove motor mount ,jack up engine use a board so as to distribute weight , loosen motor mount bolts, raise engine, remove motor mount, remove rest of bolts, remove water pump, clean area, put gasket stuff on pump, place gasket put more stuff on top of gasket ,reinstall water pump, tighten in a back and forth pattern, replace motor mount, also you will have to remove belt before anything else by moving tensioner but figured you knew that already
pull it out
No, their is a aprox 2" round spacer on the bottom of the mount you need to remove. Remove the whole screw and the spacer should just slip out. Be sure to have a bucket under the car to catch any antifreeze that may leak.
By taking the old one out and installing a new one...
Loosen the motor mount retaining bolt. Jack the motor up a few inches. Remove the motor mount retaining bolt and the motor mount bushing. Reverse the process to install the new motor mount.
I own a 1994 Bonneville and replacing the back spark plugs was not too bad, there is enough room and with a socket extension you will have no trouble.
Use a jack with a board on top to support the engine. Loosen the bolts for the motor mount. Raise the engine slightly then take the bolts out and remove the motor mount. Install the new mount, tighten the bolts, then remove the jack.
You don't have to. What you can do is take one bolt off the mount, slide the belt in the space. Then take the other bolt off and slide the belt the rest of the way. Remember to put he last bolt back on.
No need to remove the engine mount. You are able to remove the right. front lower motor mount bolt and sleeve though the wheel well. Just turn the wheels far to the right, remove belt from alternator with tensioner, remove the plastic inner cover in the wheel well and use two long extensions on a breaker bar to remove the lower bolt only on the motor mount. Pull the bolt out and remove the sleeve next to the engine. With the sleeve removed you can install and route the new belt. Reinstall sleeve and bolt.
