Why are rainforests so important to the tribes that live there?

The tribes in the Amazon are very Dependent on the Rainforest. They get their healthcare from it, their clothes (if they wear any!) and, of course, their food. Unfortunatly quite a few years ago other Humans came and gave them deadly diseases like Tuberculosis and measles, but lukily they get healthcare from carers and the forest. The carers come and treat wounds and inoculate the children. Because of the origins of these these tribes come from Portugese language, the children get taught the language from a very young age. They also create their very unique homes with the resources accessible, like the Yanamani, who are known for being great warriors. They live in a round thatch house that is estimated at 400 metres in circumference. It is very open from the inside and there is no such thing as privacy. They sleep in hammocks that are made from wooden branches. They share with each other and they own nothing independently. When a visitor comes they welcome them by wearing intimidating clothing dressed to kill as it is one of their excuses to celebrate, they even have their own 'rainforest cocktail'!

What is good about cutting down the Amazon Rainforests?

Not very much is good about cutting down the Amazon rainforest. We cut down trees that have been growing for hundreds of years. This small advantage hardly counts compared to the damage caused.Trees absorb carbon dioxide, a powerful greenhouse gas. Cutting down the trees increases global warming. The Amazon rainforest is home to indigenous tribes, as well as thousands of birds and other creatures. This is their habitat, their home.Cutting down the rainforests is often done to provide extra grazing for cattle. Our increasing demand for red meat means that more and more cattle are put into production. Cattle and sheep belch out methane, which is a greenhouse gas twenty times more dangerous than carbon dioxide.
