When you have asked the basic question and you believe more clarification is needed then you can do so on the questions discussion page.
On the left side of the page, you'll see a link called "Discuss" under "Question Tools". Click on Discuss, and add your details on the discussion page of the question!
You can go to the "Discussion" page to give more details about your question, which you can click on just below the answer section.
After you post your question, click on the "discussion" section of the question and there you can post any other details you want.

Unlike other question & answer sites, WikiAnswers does not have a function to put details about your question on the same page as your question appears. You can, however, add exposition and details in the Discussion area associated with every question on the site, and this is where it is recommended that such appear. WikiAnswers chose long ago to keep the question and answer page as clean as possible, but the designers knew that some questions need further details. The point here is that others can read the details you leave in the discussion area, and tailor the answer to the question, using those details. The focus remains on the question and the answer only.
Currently we allow for our expert users to add rich media & links to their Answers contributions. Expert users are authoritative contributors in their respected categories. Feel free to contact us if you are a candidate as expert within an Answers category.
