During a fire drill you should use the normal exits of the room and proceed to the exit from the building or other safe place of refuge.

If the normal exit is blocked, you should use a second means of exit, either through another door or through a window, if it is safe to do so. Some drills require you to find a second exit as a method of teaching you how to act when a real fire might block your normal exit. However, it is never wise to put anyone in actual danger, much less injure anyone, during a drill.

Is a drill solid?

Well a drill can be a training exercise to train soldiers or people (eg a fire drill), in this case it is not a solid it is an activity. However a drill can also be a mechanism for boring holes in this case it is made out of a solid but may not be completely solid in cross section. For instance a wood drill is entirely solid but an oil drill is a hollow tube.

What are the things you need for a fire drill?

A fire drill which is intended to be a fire drill. A fire drill should and needs to be a process where you do it once with telling all the occupants of the building to be prepared and talk them through it. Then, do it again unexpectedly to ensure that they still understand what to do in an event of an emergency evacuation! Sound the fire alarm for a good period of time aswell, this ensures that every gets the message that they need to leave- as only sounding it for a few seconds will cause the occupants to think that it's just a false alarm or a test and they will not doing anything. Maybe block an escape route or and exit/corridor for the fire drill purpose. To make people think of other quick ways to escape just in case that did happen in a real fire. Also alert the fire service that you will be doing a drill, some fire alarm systems automatically link to the fire service, so it will send out a hoax call causing a big fine for you!!! Some people outside the building who hear the fire alarm may also think that there maybe a fire, so just alert them!
