Replace the relay from under the hood. In the fuse/relay box near the battery
You did not say what year. On the 1989 Volvo 240 GL, the headlight relay is mounted on the drivers side front fender just back from the battery box. The relay has two plugs going into the bottom and I would say about 1 inch wide, 2 inches long and about 1.5 inches deep. The relay that you're referring to is the high beam relay. The headlight relay switch is located in the cab of the car behind the brake and gas pedals. You pull back the carpeting and it is mounted to the firewall.
If you haven't already, replace the headlight. Chris
Need to know the model. As is, you could be talking about a passenger car, or a tractor-trailer power unit. Generally, you just depress the tab in the bulb ballast on the backside of the headlamp assembly, twist counterclockwise, and it should come right out, allowing you to replace the bulbs. This is, of course, assuming your vehicle has composite headlights, and not sealed beam headlights.
How do i find the relay switch for my Skoda Fabia 1200cc model year 55. I am after the relay switch which works the dip and main beam headlights, my main beam works but not the dipped beam. Thanks.
does nissan skyline have a relay for high beam hidden somewhere ? if you know let me know ,have low beam but not high and the bulbs are fine
application
if its the same as mine its in the drivers footwell , the high beam one is under the ashtray first one from the right youll feel it click if you flash the lights
Need more info as this question has many answers. 1. If your low beam headlights don't work, possibly bad dimmer switch, or both low beams are burned out (one burned out without noticing before the other one burned out. Replace the bulbs is all. 2. Your hi beam indicator is inoperative but you have high beams and low beams (replace dash bulb). 3. If equipped, the high beam and low beam relay is bad. Replace the relay. 4. Possibly a wiring problem, last resort If it is a lamp/bulb, see sources and related links below for lamp/bulb info.
