Looking from the rear of the gauge apply +12v to right terminal and ground to left terminal. If functional the gauge will go to full. Reverse wires and the gauge should go to the left below empty. If it does these two things the gauge is working and the problem is wiring or sending unit. Randy Nix
can byou buy a permanent in-line fuel gauge for a 1992 corvette
I had the same problem. What is happening is there is varnish from the fuel on the potentionmeter, and making a bad connection. I used fuel injection cleaner for a few tanks and the problem has never come back.
1984, Corvette the fuel gauge stays at 1/2 full all the time. Plaese help.
With a fuel pressure gauge.

No.
A common problem with Honda cars is that the fuel gauge is stuck on full. This problem is solved by replacing the gauge cluster.
Check the fuel gauge sending unit, located in the fuel tank. The sending unit could be stuck in the full position.
Hi, I believe most Corvettes have dual fuel tanks and two actual sensors - 1 in each tank. What you will need to do is troubleshoot the system and find out when sensor is sending the wrong signals, and then replace the bad sensor. Good luck, Greg
if it has went completely clockwise against the stop you need to flip it counterclockwise with a paper clip or something
