You don't need to remove the cover to change the filter, it is enough to lift the front of the cover and reach in to release the filter.

Tools needed are a Phillips screwdriver. Turn off the ignition switch. Locate the cabin air filter compartment access cover under the passenger side dashboard. Carefully remove the 5 (five) screws holding the filter compartment access cover. Use caution to avoid damage to the access cover or loss of the screws. Remove the filter compartment access cover. Slide the filter element out of the compartment by the tab in the center of the filter. Replace with a clean cabin filter and reinstall the compartment access cover.
