If you have a rear window wiper, the connection to the wiper feed may have detached through the pipe freezing.
In the estate version this may be accessed by removing the top lining panel above the rear window. This has to be eased off and care must be taken not to break the four corner locating pins.
Hope this helps
The speed pulse wire on a 2009 octavia is pin number 9 on the multi plug connecter on the back of the speedo cluster , remove plug and all the pins are numbered .
If the problem is from a faulty electric lock, then repeated operation of the ignition switch and door lock switch (i.e. a few dozen times) may get the lock to function. Worth a try - boring but easy to do.
I have just purchased a 2nd hand Octavia 2.0L Combi, model year 2006is, it has run approximately 96k km.
My question is when is the appropriate schedule to change the timing belt, and is the Octavia like any other car i.e. when you changed the timing belt then it is wise to change the water cooling pump as well. What about the pulley and tensioner shouldn't it be changed together?
Change the belt every 90,000 miles. If the belt drives the water pump also change it at the same time. You do not have to pulley or tension unless it is defective.
the middle wire on the speedo block on the engine by the gear lever in the engine
Open the bonnet and remove the wiper arms (you will need a small extractor).
Remove the black plastic covers between the firewall and windscreen. The motor-reducer block and the linkage are right below it.
Take it back to dealer. Your so thick, you don't deserve to own a car, let alone a pug!!!!
Press and hold right hand multi function switch on wiper stalk for 2 seconds, then use same rocker to scroll down to setup.
Once highlighted press button on bottom of stalk.
Keep using up down and the button on the bottom to access various parts of menu.
+++ Ignition has to be on++++
Hello i will firstly assume you mean the A5 chassis skoda octavia (later 2nd shape) if so proceed as follows disconnect battery 12v + terminal first for safety and to avoid faulting dash or airbag cuircuits should you insert ignition key to turn steering etc then pull steering wheel out and down to max adjustment remove dash trims either side of steering wheel (small strip on left and head light switch trim on rightside) then pull out lower dash clock set trim attached to clothcover to reveal two torx screws 1x either side remove these then you will need 2x credit / loyalty card type pieces of plastic insert them one either side at top of clockset just by each top corner and push in until you find to clips that will release the clock set reach behind and release the lever type plug at rear ,remove dash set you will now have to dismantle the plug you have just removed top clips off flip over release end catchs and push out centre then at wire loom end prise the 2x catch open and slide out the inside plug the pulse will be obtained at empty pin position 28 the numbers are visible only at each end corner count carefully we insert the skoda part number000-979-009 which is easily available from the main dealer,if not available you could solder a wire into a long pin type pin and insert and use a glue gun to secure (cowboy!!) reassemble in reverse order and connect battery i am a professional meter installer so you can be assured this is 100% correct
If Fabia 1.4 16v engine code AUB then suspect piston ring fault. Check if car is using excessive oil. Combustion gasses will be blowing by the piston rings and into the crankcase. Oil vapour is then blown up into the air intake and into the throttle body, throttle body will be dirty. Can occur on very low mileage cars.
You need a special cable VAG-COM ori VCDS. Disable it from coding in Cent. Elect. (09). You can also go to the dealer and ask to disable the function.
Check your local code - but there's usually a time period of 2-4 minutes after which, if htere is no traffic, and it's safe to do so, you can pull out.
EBD: Electronic Brake Distribution (or Electronic Brake-force Distributor) - alters how much of the brake force goes to the front and how much to the rear. Cars always have more braking on front as if the rears lock before the front then the car will spin. How much braking you can do with the rears depends on how much weight is in the vehicle so EBD dynamically adjusts this balance. Without it, the manufacturer sets up the balance so the rears don't lock when the vehicle is empty which is less braking than is possible when the vehicle is full.

To get the seat out, first remove the plastic covers on top of the guide rail by popping out the small plastic bung to reveal a Phillips head screw, take this out and remove the plastic trim. Next undo the 2-8mm nuts with a 13mm socket push the seat back & tilt up slightly, push back all the way until the wheels come out of the guide rail, The seat is still connected by a tube with a wire running through it, unplug the cable and disconnect the tube. The seat can now be removed. unfortunately I am still working out where exactly the spring goes, if anyone knows please let me know DS
