Remove the inner door panel. There will be an arm that is or in this case is not attached to the handle. There are two rods: one upper and one lower. Pull the top rod down to unlatch the top catch and pull the lower one up to unlatch the bottom catch. Hope this works.

Why does a 1993 Nissan short bed keep light on after shut off?

If you are referring to the can light, there is a manual switch on the light that allows it to operate when the doors is closed or to automatically turn on when the door is open and then shut off when the door is closed. If the switch is in this position and the light is staying on, the switch in the door to tell it to turn off is probably not working. How do you fix 1987 Le Baron headlight doors that are stuck in the open position?

Hi, I know that you can open them manually if they are stuck closed, problem if driving at night. Just behind the grill, there is a mechanism to manually operate the doors. You can see it and get to it easily by crawling underneath. However, it sounds like you need a new motor for the doors. These are pretty easy to come by at a salvage yard or possibly on ebay. rtalk7
