Remove the carpet behind the tail lights and you will see the mounting sockets for the bulbs. I agree, it's a dumb arrangement.
Open the trunk. Access to the tail lights is from there.
Check the headlight switch.

Not sure on this particuliar vehicle but on most newer vehicles the tail light bulbs can be accessed by opening the rear door or trunk and removing a panel that allows access to the tail lights and the bulbs. If this is not possible you should have some type of screws on the tail light lenses itself that can be removed to access the bulbs. , EzForJesus
on some cars the tail lights and brake lights are totally different bulbs gain access to the bulbs and have someone push the brakes so that you can determine which bulbs are the brake lights and replace the tail lights
You can remove the panel inside the back of the car. From there you can access your tail lights and your tag lights.

You should specify which bulb. As is, we don't know if you're talking about headlights, tail lights, or any other number of bulbs that vehicle requires.
There is sometimes a separate flasher for the four way curcuit.
If you have no brake lights or tail lights then you've probably got an electrical problem. Check the fuses first and see if you have one or more blown.
Remove the rear tail light assembly by pulling the carpet back and unscrewing three thumb screws. Pull out the tail light assembly and the bulb sockets will be visible. twist out the socket to access the bulb. Install is reverse.
You can access the Nissan taillights from the cargo compartment. Remove the tail light assembly cover. Remove the tail light wiring harness. Remove the tail light assembly retaining bolts.
