You shouldn't be concerned with ACTING like anyhting. Just be yourself. However, if your parents don't agree with how you want to express yourself, try and compromise the lines by which you could show your inner self, such as a weekend wardrobe or extracurricular activities. Be open to other people and you'll meet others who like the same things as you. Then, if they're smart, they'll recognize you as a tomboy
There is a small number of parents who would choose no school uniform over school uniform. Most parents prefer school uniforms because: 1) It prevents their children from being late due to the fuss of having to choose and outfit every morning 2) School uniform minimizes school bullying about looks and dress because everyone looks the same 3) They don't have to buy their kids a lot of clothes just so they can wear something different all the time 4) Minimizes the washing load see the link below for more info parentuniformsurvey.com/php/40058711/sch?
Traditionally, the skirt should be at or below knee level. As some view a skirts hemline rising above the knee as being "suggestive" or "inappropriate", it is at the discretion of the parents and the school board.
Some one like me who'd call themselves a tomboy. Some people would say no if anyone asked if they were a tomboy which is stupid. Tomboys rule! If you're a tomboy, so be it, it's nothing to be ashamed of. I love being a tomboy! - K@tie :-D

Most australian kids have to wear uniform to school. Kindy, Primary, Middle and High school kids have to wear uniform if they go to a public school. Exeptions are probably some private schools. Being a high school student, I wear uniform, a rucksack and black or white trainers, (such as tennis shoes, vans, plimsolls etc). In the summer we have to wear hats, again this varies depending on the school. Hope this helps:)
"Mom . . . dad . . . I need to talk to you about being bullied at school."

Roald Dahl's Repton uniform was quite silly, as it consisted of a boater hat, tailcoat, yellow waistcoat, and knee-length socks. Dahl often joked about the uniform being uncomfortable and impractical for school life.
If you are in school you can talk to the school counselor; talk to a Pastor or Priest; a relative or a friend's parents.
